Cape Town Marriot Hotel Crystal Towers | Cape Town

Welcome to South Africa! Once you arrive in Cape Town, you will be welcomed by a pre-arranged car service that will take you directly to the Marriot Crystal Towers in Cape Town. Time to relax and prepare for your upcoming safari adventure!

*** Dinner is on your own. Feel free to join us at the Hussar Grill Steakhouse located at the Marriot for your convenience.

Tintswalo Safari Lodge | Manyeleti Game Reserve

Breakfast included at the Marriot. Car service arrives in the AM (exact times TBD) and takes us to the Cape Town Airport.

Depart to Hoedspruit Airport, one of the three airports serving the Greater Kruger National Park. During the 2.5 hour journey, you can enjoy the vast landscape views over the Kruger (watch for elephants and other animals!)

Afternoon:

Arrive at Hoedspruit Airport. Tintswalo Safari Lodge transfer is anxiously awaiting your arrival! Once your bags are collected, you hop into a transfer van taking you to the lodge. Enjoy cold still or sparkling water and keep an eye-out for animals along this 55-minute journey. Right outside the airport you have the chance of seeing baboon, giraffe, zebra, and even elephant!

Arrive at Tintswalo Safari Lodge! You are greeted with friendly faces and a welcome drink! This is your home for the next 4 nights! Take in the 19th century African explorer feel in LUXURY! Keep your eyes peeled for the resident elephants who drink water underneath a massive 500-year-old tree.

Once your belongings are dropped off, and you explore your suite, lunch is prepared by the Tintswalo chef. Enjoy the views out on the deck and take in the African wilderness you are about to explore.

3:30 pm: High Tea

Enjoy tea, famous iced coffee, and sweets before your first afternoon game drive. This is where you will meet your safari ranger and tracker. Make sure to “order” which animals you’d like to see! African Wild Dog, lion, or leopard is always at the top of our list!

4:00 pm – 7:00 pm AFTERNOON GAME DRIVE (times subject to change)

 Enjoy the Manyeleti Private Game Reserve. Manyeleti means “Place of the Stars” in Shangaan. It is a protected nature reserve, sharing unfenced borders with the Sabi Sands, Kruger National Park, and Timbavati Game Reserves. The Reserve covers over 59,000 acres of untouched wilderness ranging from savannahs, lush river ravines, marshes and hills with exceptional views. It’s the perfect experience to spot the “Big 5”; elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, rhino or the “Magnificent 7” which includes the wild dog and cheetah.

DINNER

Dinner is served at your leisure after your afternoon game drive anytime from 7pm. Enjoy a delicious dinner from the Tintswalo chef. You are typically given 2 dinner options along with a vegetation option.

After your luggage is gathered, you are welcomed by a pre-arranged car service to take you to Tintswalo at Boulders. Enjoy the 1-hour journey along the Western Cape. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Atlantic; turquoise blue water, and waves crashing into stunning white sand beaches.

6:30 pm arrive at Tintswalo Boulders in Simons Town.

Welcome to Tintswalo at Boulders. Located right above Boulders Beach, keep your eyes peeled for the famous African Penguin Colony below!

Optional dinner at Tintswalo Boulders, which we HIGHLY recommend! Enjoy breathtaking views of the Atlantic as you enjoy a delicious three-course meal prepared by the Tintswalo in house chef! If you choose to do dinner on your own in Simons Town, there’s a list of recommended restaurants for your choosing. Some restaurants are a 5-min walk away OR Ubers are available.

Optional: Afternoon visit to the Harbour Bay Mall. A great place to visit the grocery store and shops.

Explore charming and quaint Simons Town! There are many outdoor shops to visit or you can simply walk and meander through this bustling little seaside town.







Optional Penguins at Boulder Beach OR Cape Point Vineyards

 

Tintswalo Boulders is literally steps away from the famous Boulders Beach penguin colony! Enjoy easy and private access to the boardwalk and keep your eyes peeled for African Penguins! Make sure to shut the little penguin gate behind you- You don’t want them walking up to your room! Along the boardwalk you can see the conservation work in action to help save the endangered African Penguin. Notice the man-made nest boxes to help penguin pairs with a suitable place to lay their 2 eggs. Keep an eye out for Rock Hyraxes, a mammal the size of a large rabbit climbing the fences, trees, and running along the boardwalk. These adorable mammals are actually the closest living relatives to elephants!

Boulders Penguin Colony

Enter the Boulders Penguin Colony, a protected area part of South African National Parks. Entry to the park is around $10 and the ticket gives you all-day access to the penguins from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm. See the African Penguins up-close, get memorable photos, and take in the breathtaking views of where the Atlantic meets the Indian Ocean.

 

Cape Point Vineyards

20-minute drive (Ubers available) to Cape Point Vineyards for wine tasting. Other wine tasting within the region. Feel free to adventure!

Optional Dinner at Tintswalo Boulders. ***We cannot recommend the dinners at Tintswalo Boulders enough! The food was some of the best we’ve had in South Africa and we found the three-course meal very reasonable (around $36 USD for dinner per-person). A glass of wine is typically around $4 and a beer is around $2.

Optional: Enjoy the world-famous Stellenbosch Winelands, located one hour from Tintswalo at Boulders. This full day adventure visits three wine farms including Waterford Estate, Ernie Els, and Hidden Valley Wines. We plan on enjoying lunch at Ernie Els, where guests can hit golf balls off the green while sipping award-winning wines. Tasting fees typically range from $5 to $20 per person.
